The Center of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH) of the university medical centre of Mainz is seeking to fill the following position for the working group „Clinical epidemiology“ beginning either November 1st 2011 or later:

Scientific employee / epidemiologist (PostDoc) (Identification Number 284/11)

Your tasks:
- Participation in conception, coordination and execution of epidemiological and clinical studies and projects - Preparation of project plans, study protocols and application for the ethics committee
- Drafting study documents (development of SOP’s, workflows and variable manuals etc.)
- Participation in acquisition of third party funding (networking, applications)
- Evaluation of data and scientific analysis of studies (from draft to manuscript)
- Preparation and organization of research projects.

Profile Required:
- University education in human medicine and experiences in the area of clinical and/or epidemiological research (the position also can be filled by a young scientist (PostDoc) with a basic medical training)
- Ability to work in a interdisciplinary, team-oriented clinical/epidemiological research environment
- Organizing skills, high social and communicative competence
- Good PC-knowledge in the usual applications (MSWord, Access, Excel)
- Experiences with common statistical methods (SPSS, SAS or R).
- Readiness for travelling
- Excellent knowledge in English (speaking and writing)

The salary is defined by the TV-L-tariff depending on personal skills and tariff requirements. The position is fulltime and limited for 2 years.
